The last few years Indonesia data center industry grew rapidly with 2 digit growth percentage. Along with the number of internet users continues to increase, the need for quality data center in Indonesia also increased.

Responding to this issue, a group of data center provider and academia in Indonesia inaugurated the establishment of the association of the data center Indonesia, Wednesday (22.06.16), at Menara Prima, Mega Kuningan.

Association with other names Indonesia Data Center Provider Organization (IDPRO) was established by the DCI, Elitery, GTN, NTT Indonesia Nexcenter, Telkomsigma and XL Axiata, and supported by the Center for Research and Technology of the University of Indonesia.

The establishment of this data center association also aims to realize a digital nation, as has been declared by the President Joko Widodo.

IDPRO formed to collect and coordinate all the potential that exists in the data center industry in this country in order to encourage the advancement of information and technology in Indonesia. IDPRO also react to support government programs related to this industry, especially within the scope of the implementation of the Government Regulation (PP) no. 82 in 2012.

Chairman of IDPRO, Kalamullah Ramli, said “the PP number 82 of 2012 has given way to the data center industry to grow more rapidly. Even so, there is still much work to be done”.

The founders of the Association of Data Center Indonesia (IDPRO) are Alvin Siagian from NTT Communications, Richard Kartawijaya from GTN Data Center, Prof DR Kalamullah Romli ffrom the Research Center of Science and Telecommunications – University of Indonesia, Andrew Th from Telkomsigma Data Center, and Djarot Subiantoro from DCI Indonesia, Rafael Jeffry A. Sani from XL Axiata and Hendra Suryakusuma from Elitery Data Center and Managed IT Servies have signed IDPRO. IDPRO formed to collect and coordinate all the potential in the data center industry in Indonesia as well as encouraging the progress of government programs within the scope of Government Regulation PP 82 in 2012  implementation.

IDPRO expected to contribute developing industrial potential of Data Center Indonesia. The development of targeted include drafting technology systems to standardize data center Indonesia as well as the certification of the professionals involved in it.

This is one reason why IDPRO formed. Through this association, the Data Center professional people in Indonesia can be mutually supportive of one another, also facilitate coordination, both with government, investors, or with fellow Data Center Provider, “said Kalamullah chief of IDPRO during the inauguration in Jakarta, Wednesday (22/6).

In addition to being a medium for providing quality service, IDPRO expected to support the creation of Data Center management business opportunities, through the provision of facilities and supported services like Elitery Managed IT Services which is already stand to response this issue.
